Apple is hoping a new discount offer will entice new viewers into its streaming service. From now until April 24, you can sign up for Apple TV+ for only $2.99 monthly for the first three months.

The deal is available to new Apple TV+ subscribers and those whose subscriptions have lapsed. This applies even if you’re just a “seasonal” subscriber — which many folks are these days. In an era where we’re seeing nearly annual price hikes, it’s not uncommon for people to juggle multiple subscriptions throughout the year, switching between Netflix, Disney+, Max, and others while only paying for one or two at a time.

Sick and tired of subscriptions? Get a lifetime license for Microsoft Office Home and Business 2021 at a great price!

Of course, folks on an Apple One bundle can’t take advantage of this offer as Apple TV+ is already included at a discount. However, that’s also the point of Apple One: you’re more likely to stay an Apple TV+ subscriber as the other services like iCloud+ and Apple Music are more consistently useful year-round.

While the offer is available to all new subscribers without any apparent restrictions, it’s not clear how long your Apple TV+ membership has to have lapsed before you can claim the discount. You’ll unlikely be able to cancel today and sign up again immediately. Apple doesn’t say who counts as a “qualified returning subscriber,” but you can check your eligibility by clicking the Accept Offer button at tv.apple.com. The

The fine print states that the subscription has to be billed directly through Apple, so you won’t be able to get the deal through a third-party arrangement or your mobile wireless provider. You also can’t claim the offer if you’re eligible for a three-month free Apple TV+ offer (but why would you?).

There are also no restrictions on the Apple TV+ promotional offer — it’s the full package, including all the latest Apple Originals, plus the weekly Friday Night Baseball double-headers with no local broadcast restrictions and all the related MLB content. While MLS Season Pass is a separate subscription that’s not included in this promo, Apple does offer some MLS content to Apple TV+ subscribers, including Sunday Night Soccer and many Leagues Cup games.

Like most such promo offers, this will automatically renew at the regular $9.99 price when the discounted three months are up, so you’ll have to set a reminder to cancel it before then. Of course, Apple is hoping you’ll stick around at the full price, but three months is plenty of time to binge-watch Severance, Silo, and Slow Horses, and even Apple’s latest hit, The Studio, should be finished by then.

Apple has been ramping up its promotional offers for Apple TV+ lately. It kicked off 2025 with a free weekend for everyone with an Apple ID — no need to subscribe, just sign in and watch anything on the service. While some folks saw that as an act of desperation, Apple TV+ has always been a quality-over-quantity service that’s more akin to HBO than Netflix, and it’s been hitting it out of the park with some incredibly high-rated content. Severance became its most popular show ever, even beating out Ted Lasso. However, that may soon change, as the eponymous football coach will soon return for a fourth season.
