Apple may be running into issues getting iPhone XS and XS Max devices into the hands of customers on time, according to a new report.
The Cupertino tech giant sent an email advising some customers that their orders won’t be ready for pickup during their original check-in times. The email cites “last minute logistical issues,” which the company is “working quickly to resolve.”
APPLE: If your #iPhone XS or Apple Watch pickup is delayed, you may just need to hold on until the afternoon: The Apple Store is advising some of its customers electing to pick up their #iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max orders in-store that they are unable to… https://t.co/tmMH27ixqn pic.twitter.com/JpJjJSXioP

Apple apologized for the delay and said it will notify customers by email when their order is ready for pickup.
On the other hand, the number of people actually impacted by those logistical issues is still fairly low, according to several media reports.
There’s also the fact that the delay for in-store pickup may not be very long. For many users, Apple Stores across the globe will likely have remaining stock to fulfill pick-up orders later on today.
Today’s email closely follows reports of users getting hit with delayed UPS shipping estimates on Thursday. According to some users who are having their devices shipped to them, the delivery estimate has been pushed until Monday, Sept. 24.

For an unclear number of customers, that shipping estimate may be up in the air, according to at least one Twitter user.
So extremely disappointed in @UPS that my iPhone XS delivery scheduled for today is now delayed until God-Knows-When.
