Apple has been upping its game lately (literally) with fun new additions to its Arcade gaming subscription service. The last set of releases brought new chapters in the classic Katamari Damacy and Space Invaders franchises, plus an iPhone and iPad-friendly version of Atari’s RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic. Today, the company continues that trend with another set of quirky and fun titles.
The new titles will arrive on May 1, and the headline game in today’s announcement is What the Clash? — an Apple Arcade-exclusive follow-up to Triband’s other popular “What the Games” titles, including What the Car? and What the Golf?
Apple describes What the Clash? as “a quirky, fast-paced multiplayer game that combines playful activities like table tennis, archery, racing, and tag.” Gamers will be able to play solo or challenge friends, but like the other games in the series, you can expect this one to be full of twists and turns. For instance, modifier cards will create “absurd combos” like “toasty archery” and sticky tennis,” not to mention “milk the fish” (which paints an interesting mental picture).
With simple touch controls, everyone plays as The Hand, a charming and stretchy hand with legs that players can customize with hundreds of combinations of unlockable items like eye patches, dresses, and earrings. Competitors will have to outplay and outgoof their opponents as they go hand-to-hand with family and friends in some seriously silly showdowns.

What the Clash? will be joined by four other games. with My Buddy by Neil is “a heartwarming game” that has players raise a virtual pet. However, unlike the mythic Tamogotchi, this one offers a variety of animated dogs and cats to bond with. Players can not only nurture them and help them grow but also dress them up and decorate their spaces.
Apple’s LEGO franchise partnership gets another entry with LEGO Friends Heartlake Rush+, a new game by StoryToys that will let players race through Heartlake City as their favorite LEGO Friends characters in a car that’s customized to their unique tastes.
For the less action-oriented, Words of Wonders: Search+ by Fugo Games offers a set of classic word search puzzles built around iconic landmarks. In addition to finding individual words, players will be challenged to use their discoveries to solve a larger mystery.
SUMI SUMI : Matching Puzzle+ is a more whimsical puzzle game that highlights “beloved characters like Rilakkuma and Sumikko Gurashi from Japanese character manufacturing company San-X” to host kawaii matching puzzles.
Apple will also be delivering more content updates for some of its popular Arcade games. Hello Kitty Island Adventure will open the City Town Orchards on April 16, and What the Car? will gain new skins, new levels, and a new map on April 10. Updates will also be coming to Talking Tom Blast Park, Tomb of the Mask+, Three Kingdoms HEROES, Drive Ahead! Carcade, Ridiculous Fishing EX, A Slight Chance of Sawblades+, Skate City: New York, and more.
PGA Tour Pro Golf, which debuted in February, is getting a second content update after a March Arcade release, which added the TPC Sawgrass course and a new Campaign mode. On April 17, virtual golfers will be able to tee off at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Apple Arcade costs $6.99 monthly and offers access to over 200 games for a family of up to six people, with no ads, in-app purchases, or other hidden costs. It’s also included in all Apple One tiers, and most titles are playable across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro.
