Can You Spot the Differences? Motorola Blatantly Copies Apple

The Motorola P30 is not an iPhone X, but it sure looks like one. While we expect many Android OEMs to borrow design elements from Apple’s flagships, Motorola has certainly taken that to the next level.
At first glance, you might mistake the Motorola P30 for the iPhone X. That’s perfectly understandable, although there are some key design differences between the two.
The two devices share an extremely comparable front-facing design, down to the similarly sized display notch, which actually serves a purpose on the iPhone X, something that can't be said of the P30.
It doesn’t help that Motorola chose to go with a wallpaper that echoes the iPhone X’s default one.
As The Verge pointed out, the two devices are so similar that Google image searching for the Motorola P30 actually returns results for the iPhone X!
But despite looking incredibly alike, there are a few differences between the two handsets. Can you spot them better than Google? Use the right arrow to begin.
5 The Chin
Upon closer inspection, you will notice that the Motorola device isn’t nearly as bezel-free as the iPhone X. At the bottom of the Motorola P30 is a small “chin” branded with the company logo that serves as a stark reminder of just how clever Apple’s edge-to-edge design really is.
4 The Logos
Like the iPhone X, the Motorola P30 has a glass backing that echoes the general aesthetic of the Apple flagship. That’s especially true with the black and white models. Because the rear of both devices are relatively devoid of distinguishing features, it’s hard to tell the two handsets apart, save for the Motorola logo and one other feature which we’ll get to later.
3 A Unique Color Option
Of course, if you flip certain models of the Motorola P30 over, you might notice a pretty striking difference. One version of the Motorola P30 comes in a rather colorful purple/blue metallic-style hue. That’s reminiscent of Huawei’s P20 more than anything Apple makes. (Although there are rumors that the Cupertino juggernaut could release more colorful handsets this year.)
2 The Camera Setup
Another feature that seems heavily inspired by the iPhone X is the rear camera setup on the Motorola P30. Essentially, Motorola has borrowed the vertically oriented, dual-lens camera setup that — thus far — has remained a staple of Apple’s iPhone lineup. The front-facing camera, with its notch design, is also a dead giveaway to iPhone X inspiration.
1 The Fingerprint Sensor
Of course, there’s one thing that will instantly let you know that the Motorola P30 is not an iPhone X — or any iPhone for that matter. That thing is the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which Motorola has used in lieu of advanced facial recognition or a front button. That’s a common feature on many Android phones, but has never made an appearance on an Apple iPhone.
