Apple is kicking off 2025 with significant updates to its Fitness+ service to help all those folks who have “get in shape” on their list of new year’s resolutions.

This includes new workout categories and programs similar to what we’ve seen in previous years, but this year Apple has another trick up its sleeve: It’s announced a new collaboration with Strava that will allow subscribers to integrate Apple Fitness+ workout metrics into their Strava profiles.

The enhanced integration will allow members to share Apple Fitness+ workouts to Strava, where they’ll be able to see rich details on the workout that can be shared with the rest of the Strava community. This will include not only metrics such as time, distance, and calories burned, but details from the workout episode such as the images, music genres, and trainer names.

As part of the new deal, Apple has also announced a bonus Fitness+ free trial offer for Strava subscribers, who can redeem an additional two months on top of the standard one-month trial offered to new Fitness+ users, for a total of three months. This offer is only available in Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US for now, although Apple suggests it will eventually roll out to other countries.

Beyond Strava, Apple is also adding new programs in what it calls its biggest lineup yet, including a progressive strength training program, a conditioning program for pickleball, a workshop-style yoga program, and a breath meditation program.

These new workout regiments will be accompanied by an expanded Artist Spotlight series, building on the programs Apple debuted in 2021 of featuring workouts built around full playlists of popular artists. That list began with hitmakers such as Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and Keith Urban, and expanded last year to include Rihanna from Apple’s 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, plus Britney Spears and U2.

Now, Apple is adding to that list with Janet Jackson, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar. New guests are also coming to Apple’s Time to Walk experience, including Adam Scott of Severance, record producer Steve Aoki, actor Lana Condor, singer/songwriter Rita Ora, Latin urban artist Daddy Yankee, and actors Maddie Ziegler and Tiffany Haddish, among others.

Apple’s group of trainers is also expanding to include choreographer and dancer Alex Wong of So You Think You Can Dance fame to lead an exclusive dance workout takeover, plus Canadian professional pickleball champion Catherine Parenteau to develop and lead a new Strength, Endurance, and Agility for Pickleball program. As part of the new Strava collaboration, athletes from that community will also be joining Fitness+ workouts as special guest trainers throughout the year.

Fitness+ is designed to support everyone’s unique fitness and wellness journey, providing welcoming and motivating workouts, meditations, and programs that make it easy to stay active and mindful. From workouts that can boost power and precision for pickleball, to breath meditations that help relieve stress, along with Artist Spotlight sessions featuring iconic hits, and an exciting collaboration with Strava, Fitness+ has something to inspire, motivate, and help everyone feel their best in 2025.

Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies

The new Apple Fitness+ workouts will begin showing up on Monday, January 6, while the new Artist Spotlight and Time to Walk content will start arriving weekly beginning on January 13 with Janet Jackson and Adam Scott (just in time for the season premiere of Severance on January 17). New Artist Spotlights will be added weekly, culminating in Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show headliner Kendrick Lamar on February 3.

Apple Fitness+ is available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Switzerland, the UAE, the UK, and the US for $9.99 (US) per month or $79.99 (US) per year or as part of an Apple One Premier plan. The new Strava integration requires the latest version of the Strava app and an iPhone or Apple Watch running iOS 18.2 or watchOS 11.2.
