3 Things We Didn’t See From Apple’s Glowtime Event

Apple’s September keynote is a wrap, and as we all expected, the company revealed the brand new iPhone 16 lineup alongside the new Apple Watch Series 10 and the new AirPods lineup.
Even though we already expected all of these products to come out in some form, Apple still surprised us with a few new things we didn’t expect, like the new Visual Intelligence technology and some extra health features for the AirPods Pro.
However, with all the rumors that were going around earlier this year, there were a few extra products or announcements we expected Apple to share with us.
While this year’s iPhone event wasn’t out of the ordinary, here are a few announcements that we expected to see but didn’t.
No Apple Watch Ultra 3 This Year

Even though there weren’t any big rumors about the Apple Watch Ultra this year, we still expected Apple to upgrade its most expensive Apple Watch this year.
However, as we now know, that didn’t happen. Some last-minute rumors revealed that Apple was just going to announce some new colors for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 this year.
And unfortunately, they were right. Apple simply added a new color to the old Apple Watch Ultra 2, which now comes in a satin black finish.
Moreover, there’s a new Apple Watch Ultra band, the new Titanium Milanese Loop, which is a new titanium band that’s corrosion-resistant and has a parachute-style buckle with two side-release buttons.
While the new Apple Watch Ultra’s color looks more elegant than before, we still expect a new upgrade from Apple. The good news is that the new sleep apnea detection is coming to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 as and the Apple Watch Series 9 with watchOS 11 — as soon as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves this new feature.
The Apple Watch SE 3 Wasn’t Announced Either
Alongside a new Apple Watch Series 10, we were also expecting Apple to launch a third-generation Apple Watch SE.
Unfortunately, like the Apple Watch Ultra, Apple didn’t upgrade its budget-friendly wearable this year. Instead, it focused on the Apple Watch Series 10, which has a thinner design and a larger display.
Apple probably doesn’t want to fix something that isn’t broken, so we’ll have to wait until 2025 to see if we get an Apple Watch SE 3 upgrade.
No Price Changes on the iPhone

Perhaps the biggest surprise for all of us was the fact that Apple didn’t increase the price of the iPhone 16 lineup this year. Not all surprises are bad news.
A combination of last year’s price increase to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, inflation across all markets, and rumors from all over the web led us to believe that Apple could possibly increase the price of the iPhone 16 lineup this year.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen. Surprising all of us, Apple kept the same prices for all iPhone 16 models this year. This means that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus start at $799 and $899, respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, on the other hand, start at $999 for the 128GB model and $1,199 for the 256GB model, respectively.
Apple’s New Devices Are Here
We’ve been waiting for the new iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods for a very long time. Now that they’re finally here, we know everything we can expect from Apple in the next few months.
While Apple Intelligence will take most of the spotlight in the next few months, the iPhone 16 and other Apple devices have many other features that we can’t wait to try for ourselves.
All the new AirPods, the new Apple Watch Series 10, and the Satin Black Apple Watch Ultra 2 are available for pre-order today. The iPhone 16 lineup, on the other hand, won’t be available to pre-order until this Friday. All the new devices Apple announced today will be available next Friday, September 20.
