Sing Correctly, Read Your Favorite Song's Lyrics
Don't make up words to popular songs, learn the real ones! You can actually find the lyrics to your favorite songs inside the Apple Music app.
You just need to tap on the icon located on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. This will show the lyrics synced with the song.
- You can also get the full lyrics by going to the 'playing now' screen of any song and tap on the three dots on the right-hand side of your screen.
- Scroll down and tap on the 'View Full Lyrics' or 'Lyrics' option.
- Then, sing along to your favorite tunes.
Improve Your Quality or Save Data
When you start using Apple Music, the default settings make it so you won't waste too much of your data. This is a great feature if you're using an affordable wireless service plan that only gives you a few gigabytes of data each month.
However, if you don't have to worry about your cellular data plan, then you can bump up your music quality in the Settings app.
All you have to do is go to Settings app and scroll down to Apple Music. Select Cellular Data, and then you'll see below the word streaming the option for 'High Quality Streaming'.
Now you can choose to toggle High Quality Streaming on to have better quality and use more cellular data or to turn it off and save your data.
Enable Automatic Downloads on Your Library
On the other hand, if you want to save up as much data as possible, you can always download your favorite songs. You do that by tapping on the cloud icon next to each song or inside of a playlist.
Apple Music can also download automatically every song you add to your Library. This is not as simple as tapping on the cloud icon.
Instead, you should go to Settings and then select the Apple Music option. Scroll down to the 'Downloads' section and enable Automatic Downloads.
Optimize Your Storage
If you're planning on downloading music to your device, you might want to enable Apple Music's storage optimization. This helpful feature makes it so your iPhone deletes downloaded songs you haven't heard in a while.
Just like the Automatic Downloads feature, you have to head to the Settings app and then select the Apple Music settings. Scroll down to the 'Downloads' option and Optimize Storage to enable it.
Search Songs Using Their Lyrics
How many times have you tried to remember a song's name, but you only remember part of the lyrics. While Google has always been a good option for these situations, Apple Music has made it easier to find any song using only its lyrics.
Now, if you go to the search option in the Apple Music app, you can type the part of the lyrics of a song, hit search, and then the results will show the song or songs that have similar lyrics to what you're looking for.
Find More Songs from Your Favorite Artists
Another great feature in the search bar, is that it can help you find more songs or the 'essential' songs about an artist or a band.
Let's say you just found a new band, and you want to know their best, most well-known songs. You can go to the search option, type the name of the band or artist and then write 'essentials'. This will give you a playlist filled with the best songs from that band or artist.
On the other hand, if you're tired of the same songs, you can also type the name of the band or artists and then write 'Next Steps' to get a playlist with the artist's lesser-known, maybe underrated songs.
Play Your Music on Apple TV and HomePod
With the help of AirPlay, using your Apple TV or HomePod devices to play your music is extremely easy. It's literally a one-click trick.
- First, make sure your Apple TV or HomePod is on the same network as your iPhone.
- Then, go to the Now Playing screen, and you should see the AirPlay icon at the bottom of your screen.
- Tap on the icon and then select the device you want to use. And that's it.
Wake up to Your Favorite Song
While many of us wouldn't recommend doing this, using a song you like to wake up can give you extra energy early in the morning. And, even if it's not that easy to do it, you can use any song in your Library as a wake-up sound. Just follow these steps.
- Go to the Clock app.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap on Alarm.
- Tap on Edit, which is at the top left corner, and then select the alarm you want to modify.
- Tap on the Sound option.
- Right in the middle of your screen, you should see the Songs option.
- Select Pick a Song, that will take you to your Library.
- Search for the song you want to use and then save the changes.
Pick Your Favorite EQ Setting
Apple Music also has the option to change your sound's EQ. EQ stands for equalization, which is the process of changing the frequencies of an audio component.
This basically means that you can change the settings to do things like making your bass sound punchier, or improve the overall sound of your music.
This is subjective, though, so to play around with Apple Music's EQ.
- Go to the Settings app and select Apple Music.
- Then, tap on the EQ option, located at the bottom of your screen.
- Once inside, you can test to find which is the best option for you.
