If you’re in a situation where you’re unable to answer an incoming call — such as at the library or at work, for instance, you can pretty effortlessly dispatch a text message out to the caller by selecting the message icon on the incoming call screen.
Apple provides several pre-written messages, such as “Sorry, I can’t talk right now,” or “I’m on my way!” However, if you’re feeling a bit more empathetic, you can always write your own, customized quick-reply message by going to Settings > Phone > Respond With Text.
