6 Things to Expect from Next Week’s Apple Keynote

We're only a few days away from Apple's big fall event. Cleverly called Wonderlust, Apple's September showcase is expected to feature a lot of new products and updates that we can't wait to get our hands on.
As to what Apple is specifically going to announce, there are a lot of rumors going around telling us what Apple is working on and what we might actually see. While Apple never actually says what its events will be about, we already have a pretty good guess as to what the company is planning to reveal during its event this coming Tuesday.
Read on for six big things that we hope to see during Apple's Wonderlust event on Tuesday.
The iPhone 15 Lineup
First and foremost, the iPhone 15. It's not a surprise at this point, but we expect Apple's Wonderlust event to be all about the iPhone.
This year, we're expecting the iPhone 15 lineup to bring a lot of new things to the table. For starters, the most prevalent rumors suggest that Apple will finally bite the bullet and switch to a USB-C port on the new iPhone models.
Not only that but there are also rumors that some iPhone models will support Thunderbolt, which means you'll be able to transfer files and charge your iPhone faster than ever before.
Beyond these rumors, we also expect to see the Dynamic Island across all iPhone models and the introduction of a new Action button instead of the ring/silent switch. You'll be able to customize this button to do a lot of things, including putting your iPhone in Silent mode.
Additionally, Apple is set to introduce a periscope camera lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This periscope camera would give the highest-end iPhone a 5x to 10x optical zoom without sacrificing quality.
New Charging Cables to Match Your iPhone's Color
In addition to the fun colors the iPhone will be available in, there are rumors that say the charging cables will feature matching colors.
As we reported recently, some leakers have revealed that the iPhone 15 models may come with color-matched braided USB-C charging cables, which would be the first time Apple has ever done this with the iPhone.
While we don't know exactly all the colors the iPhone 15 lineup will be available in, Twitter user Majin Bu shared a photo showing iPhone charging cables with the colors gray, black, yellow, purple, and orange.
While this isn't a huge change, it'll be a nice way to make the iPhone stand out even when it's charging. Plus, the braided cables should be much more durable.
Apple Watch Series 9
Just like the new iPhone, we also expect a new Apple Watch to come during Apple's September event.
Unfortunately for Apple Watch lovers, the Apple Watch Series 9 might not be that big of an update. There aren't rumors about significant new features or even a big design change, so you should expect a pretty similar Apple Watch to the Series 8.
The biggest change will be on the inside. The new S9 chip for this year's Apple Watch will bring a lot of performance improvements across the board, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman recently shared that other new internal components, including a fourth-generation heart rate sensor, will "focus on speed, efficiency, and accuracy."
There are rumors that Apple might also launch a new pink color option for the Apple Watch Series 9 this year.
A New Apple Watch Ultra
Besides the regular Apple Watch, Apple might also release a second-generation Apple Watch Ultra this year.
Like the Series 9, the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra isn't expected to be a big update, either, with the focus being on improvements in its performance.
Most of the boost will come from a new S9 chip, which is said to be based on Apple's A15 Bionic chip, the same processor you can find on the iPhone 13 Pro lineup and the regular iPhone 14 models.
Apple may also make the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra a bit lighter this year by 3D printing some parts of the Ultra.
The good news for anyone who didn't like the color of the Apple Watch Ultra is that we might also see a new, darker titanium finish available.
Will We See New AirPods During the Keynote?
A lot of people are expecting Apple to launch a new pair of AirPods during this year's presentation.
What we're most likely to see instead is the introduction of a new charging case. You read that right; Apple is expected to release a new USB-C charging case for the AirPods Pro 2. Sure, it won't be ground-breaking news, but it'll be a nice addition for people who love USB-C.
There's also a small chance AirPods 4 could arrive with USB-C and an H2 chip to support the new iOS 17 features, but Bloomberg's Gurman more recently suggested that might not happen until sometime next year, along with bringing USB-C to the AirPods Max.
Some rumors also indicate that Apple is working on a more affordable pair of AirPods, supposedly called AirPods Lite. These could be introduced at the event, but we haven't heard much about them lately, so it doesn't seem likely.
Will We Learn More About the Apple Vision Pro?

The Apple Vision Pro, Apple's virtual and augmented reality headset, shocked the world when the company announced it during this year's WWDC.
This is Apple's newest product since it launched the Apple Watch almost 10 years ago, so the company might use one of its biggest events of the year to give us an update.
While it's kind of unlikely that we actually see something new about this headset, there's still the possibility that Apple will show us how the Vision Pro can be used with the new iPhone 15 lineup.
After all, Apple is famous for its ecosystem, so there's a big chance that you'll be able to use your iPhone with your Vision Pro once it arrives next year.
