Amazon’s Prime Day 2024 sales event is set to kick off next week, but that doesn’t mean you need to wait until then to get some great deals. The online retail giant is already offering up some fantastic prices on Apple’s AirPods, including the AirPods Max, which are now at the lowest price we’ve ever seen.

Right now, you can score a pair of AirPods Max for only $399. That’s $150 off the regular price. All five colors are available at that price, but as usual, there’s no indication of availability, so you’ll want to act fast if you’re hoping to scoop up a pair in your favorite shade.

You can save even more today if you’re willing to go the refurbished route. While Amazon doesn’t have any AirPods Max In its Renewed bin, Best Buy is offering Geek Squad Certified Refurbished AirPods Max for $360 as part of its Amazon Prime shadow sale. That’s a deal of the day, so it’s only good for another few hours.

Of course, whether or not it’s a good deal for the aging late 2020 headphones is open to debate, but if you’ve had your eye on them, this is likely the lowest price you’ll find them for, at least until Apple releases it’s second-generation AirPods Max.

If rumors are accurate, those will arrive by the end of this year, but they may not offer much more than a USB-C port and some new colors. We’re hoping for at least an upgrade to Apple’s H2 chip, but even that’s up in the air, as some reports have said they just don’t sell well enough for Apple to put any real investment into improving them.

If in-ear headphones are more your speed, Amazon also has the rest of the lineup of current AirPods at some rock-bottom prices:

The AirPods Pro are an especially great deal right now, as they’re the most current in the entire lineup. These are the ones that Apple refreshed last fall to add a USB-C case and new lossless audio support for Vision Pro users, and they’re not slated to be replaced until at least next year — and probably more toward the end of next year.

This also means they support all of Apple’s latest audio features, including Adaptive Audio introduced in iOS 17, and the new nod-and-shake gestures and voice isolation features coming in iOS 18. For Apple fans, these are the in-ear buds to buy.

The third-generation AirPods aren’t a bad choice if you’re trying to save a few bucks, but it’s worth mentioning that we’re expecting their successors, the “AirPods 4,” to arrive this fall, with a higher-end pair potentially adding active noise cancellation (ANC) to the mix. However, with two versions of the fourth-gen AirPods on offer, there’s no word on how Apple will price them.

Finally, if you’re looking for a cheap-and-cheerful set of AirPods, you really can’t go wrong with the AirPods 2 for $69. While you won’t get Spatial Audio or adaptive EQ, they still provide decent sound quality and support hands-free “Hey Siri” commands and wireless charging.
