Every Nintendo Game You Can Play on iOS (and Two Coming Soon!)

Nintendo pioneered handheld gaming with the Game Boy, Nintendo DS, and even the Nintendo Switch. However, when it came to mobile, Nintendo stubbornly dragged its feet. Fast forward to today and Nintendo still hasn’t fully embraced mobile games, but they’re starting to come around. In fact, Nintendo has two exciting new games for iOS in development, with one of those being released in September.
To keep yourself entertained while you wait for these new releases, continue reading to learn more about the entire Nintendo lineup for iOS, as well as upcoming games you won't want to miss!
6 Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp
Animal Crossing has long been a favorite among kids and the kids at heart. In the games, you’re a human in a world shared with personified animals and other human avatars. In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, this idea remains the same and the graphics and gameplay closely mimic past games. In this world you’re a camper with your own customizable campground. You even get a camper of your own to customize.
As a camp manager you decide what your campsite looks like from furniture and tents, to the landscaping and more. You even get to invite a few animal friends of your choosing to hangout at your new outdoor digs. Earn friendship points by handling animal requests and make new friends with players around the world. As you create new animal friends you will learn how to decorate your space so that they’ll come and visit.
You can explore different locations where you can catch bugs, go fishing, or collect fruit. You can also craft new items for your campground and camper as you collect material. Crafted items include furniture, clothing, and more.
The app is free to download and is available on iPhone and iPad. In-app purchase are available, but aren’t required to advance through the game.

5 Super Mario Run
Mario is probably the best known video game character ever; and while Nintendo didn’t give us a platform or 3D adventure game, they did give us a casual runner that can be played with one hand. Guide Mario as he runs through side-scrolling worlds with just a tap of your finger.
Enter the world of Mario and smash goombas, collect coins, and takedown Mario’s greatest nemesis: Bowser. You can make Mario jump, spin, and flip as he collects mushrooms to change size and races against the clock to grab the flag at the end of the world.
Mario Run features different modes as well. In World Tour mode, Mario runs through 24 different courses to rescue — you guessed it — Princess Peach (I’m starting to see a trend here). The coins you collect and the challenges you complete will let you earn new items to decorate the Mushroom Kingdom. You can also unlock other playable characters such as Luigi, Yoshi, and Princess Peach. In addition to completing the courses and saving Peach, you can choose from three different difficulties each featuring a different color of coin. Collect all the coins of a particular color to unlock a corresponding pipe that leads to a secret level.
In Toad Rally Mode you can compete against friends and other players to see who can win the most coins and style points. As you run, different colored Toads will appear to cheer you on. The better you do, the more Toads come to cheer. Winning rallies will result in Toads coming to live in your kingdom. You will be able to expand your kingdom and purchase more items as more and more Toads come to stay.
In Remix 10 — the newest game mode — Mario is out to save another DID (Damsel-In-Distress). This time Daisy has lost her way and Mario must find and help her. This course consists of 10 short courses that are played back-to-back. It adds a new element of gameplay and shows that Nintendo is dedicated to adding new content and play styles in frequent updates.
Mario Run is free to start. To unlock all worlds and continue playing, a one-time in-app purchase of $9.99 is required. Mario Run is available on both iPhone and iPad.

4 Fire Emblem Heroes
A spin-off of Nintendo’s Fire Emblem, this turn-based, role playing game will have you battling enemy teams using different attacks based on what each character is capable of. The storyline, which includes over 500 stages is divided into chapters where players complete missions and training to increase their characters' strength. You can control a team of up to four characters and take turns attacking enemies on a battle grid.
In addition to the storyline there are other modes of gameplay to help you strengthen your allies and allow you to compete against your friends. The game includes virtual currency which can be used to recruit new characters and purchase stamina used to complete missions.
The app is free to download and offers in-app purchases for in-game currency. It is available on both iPhone and iPad.

3 Pokémon Games
The Pokémon franchise is owned by three companies: Game Freak, Creatures, Inc., and Nintendo. Together they make up the Pokémon company with each proprietor owning a seemingly equal share of the organization. That being said, other companies — such as Niantic — help create content as well and often will have their own stake of the profits. For example, it’s estimated Nintendo only gets about 10 percent of Pokémon Go’s revenue.
That being said, Pokémon is basically synonymous with Nintendo in today’s culture. So it would be only fitting to include it on this list. Currently there are eight games available on iOS: Pokémon Go, Pokémon Duel, Pokémon Shuffle, Pokémon Quest, Magikarp Jump, and the Pokémon Trading Card Game. For younger children, there’s Pokémon Playhouse and Camp Pokémon.
Besides the plethora of games, there are also iMessage sticker packs and a Pokémon TV app that you can use to watch select movies and TV episodes of your favorite pocketable monsters.

2 Dragalia Lost: Coming Soon!
Currently available for pre-order from the App Store, Dragalia Lost is set to release on September 27.
While most of their mobile games up until this point have been casual games based on existing characters, Dragalia will be Nintendo’s first original mobile game. It’s an action role playing game that’s free to play and allows players to team up with friends, transform into dragons, and use their unique powers to save the realm.
You can choose from more than 60 characters and every quest allows you to gather with four other players to compete in a multiplayer raid. Using in-game currency called Wyrmite and Diamantium, users can obtain more characters, dragons, and power-up items. Diamantium can only be acquired using in-app purchases.
This week, Nintendo issued a press release promising if 500,000 users pre-register the game with their Nintendo Network ID they will be given 1,500 Wyrmite upon start.
The game can be pre-ordered for free today and will contain in-app purchases.

1 Mario Kart Tour: Coming Soon!

Perhaps the most highly anticipated iOS game from Nintendo, Mario Kart Tour will be racing into the App Store sometime next year. Nintendo has stayed mum on what this game will entail, so other than a title and a few pictures there isn’t really anything to go on.
Like most of their iOS games, Mario Kart Tour will be free to download and start, but will require an in-app purchase to unlock the full game. Users will more than likely be able to pre-order the game on the App Store. It’s expected to release around March 2019.
