4 New Things Google Assistant Can Do That Siri Just Can’t

Google is preparing to roll out some impressive new features to its flagship AI this summer. After its big announcement this week, we now have a clear picture as to what is in store for users. More than a year after Google made its Google Assistant available for iPhones, we are begining to see their AI close the gap on Siri.
Google Assistant has a new bag of tricks up its sleeve that Siri may not be able to match. Continue reading to learn how Google Assistant now has the upper hand over its Apple counterpart.
4 Personal Phone Calls
An impressive addition to Google Assistant is the ability to make phone calls for you. This feature will be able to book appointments and carry out a conversation whenever the situation arises. The assistant is expected to interact as naturally as a human being, making it virtually impossible (in theory) to the user on the other line to know they are not speaking to a real person.
3 Continued Conversations
Google Assistant’s latest update features what they are calling continued conversations. This nifty new feature allows users to have natural conversations without having to use the keywords “Hey Google" to begin a new question. This allows for more relaxed style conversations until it reaches a natural end. Although Amazon’s Alexa already does this with its “follow up mode,” we are yet to see this feature attached to Siri.
2 Location, Location, Location
With Google Maps at its disposal, finding your current location or getting suggestions nearby on Google Assistant is still far more simple and reliable than Siri.
Starting with its interface, the results from Google’s AI are organized in a cleaner layout that allows you to jump on to Google Street View without a hitch. The simplicity of its functions is where it will continue to stand out, allowing for easier navigation.
In comparison, Siri is a hit and miss with the results it returns, usually giving a wide range of nearby locations instead of narrowing down the best. Combine that with Apple Maps still not in the same league as Google Maps, it is easy to see why Google Assistant has the upper hand here.
1 Friendly Reminders
One of the best features of Google Assistant is its ability to remember pretty much everything you have said. Both Google Assistant and Siri provide reliable answers to whatever questions you pose but it is the ability to use that information again that puts Google Assistant over Siri.
Under its new slogan “Make Google Do It,” Google Assistant continues to push forward using this information and applying it to your daily life. Marketed as an all-around routine facilitator for users, Google Assistant will attempt to help you plan out you week by giving you friendly reminders for breaks, meetings and other routines.
