iPhone X Used to Shoot People Magazine’s ’50 Most Beautiful People of 2018′

A high-profile Spanish magazine used an iPhone for a recent cover story photoshoot, Apple CEO Tim Cook highlighted this week.
People en Español used an iPhone X to shoot many of the images for its upcoming June issue, which covers the 50 most beautiful people of 2018. Cook noted the use of the latest Apple flagship in a tweet Friday morning.
As the Apple chief executive points out, the magazine issue’s cover photo and other individual images were shot using an iPhone X. Of course, other studio-level equipment — like lights and reflectors — were likely used in the photoshoot.
The feature story includes names such as Demi Lovato, Ricky Martin, John Leguizamo, Maluma, J Balvin, Amara La Negra, Geraldine Bazán and Jamie Camil, among others.

iPhones themselves are no strangers to the professional photography realm. In September, Time Magazine used an Apple handset to shoot images for its “Firsts: Women Who Are Changing The World” story. And earlier that year, publisher Condé Nast revealed two magazines whose covers photos were shot on an iPhone 7 Plus. A 2017 Billboard issue also used an iPhone to shoot prominent images.
Similarly, the Cupertino tech giant regularly markets the iPhone as a photographic heavy-hitter. Cook has highlighted other photoshoots taken on iPhone, including a recent image series captured with iPhone X devices during Holi celebrations in India.
Apple also recently launched its first Instagram account in August 2017, where it highlights user-submitted videos, photos, and Stories as part of its wide-ranging “Shot on iPhone” campaign. That marketing campaign also includes television, print and online advertising.
The iPhone X sports a dual-lens, 12-megapixel camera setup on its rear. Apple has also upgraded the device’s telephoto lens and sensor, and used a new image signal processor to allow for better-looking image capture. As such, Apple’s latest and greatest is widely recognized as having one of the best smartphone cameras currently on the market.
