It seems as if there’s never a rest in the ever-evolving ‘iPhone 7’ rumor mill, and that we’re graced with a fresh take on Apple’s forthcoming, 10th generation handset on the weekly. And while these are all rumors that need to be taken with a serious dose of salt, for now, it’s only reasonable to assume that the Silicon Valley tech-giant has some big plans up its sleeve for the ‘iPhone 7’ that is pretty much guaranteed to be launching this fall.

The latest render, however, which comes to us courtesy of Apple’s inner circles in the far east, is the first to be extensively detailed in terms of what it will and will not feature — although there still remain questions and reasonable concerns about this one, nonetheless.

For instance, while the render specifically notes that the forthcoming device will feature an AMOLED display, well-connected KGI securities’ analyst, Ming Chi Kuo, recently went on record indicating that Apple won’t be switching to AMOLED display technology until at least 2019.

As you can see from the photo below, other changes that are said to be on the way include a ceramic back surrounded by a metal frame, and an omission of those ghastly looking antenna lines that we reported on last week. Additionally, the render echoes sentiments that Apple will be foregoing the 3.5 mm headphone jack, while adding other enhancements such as improved speed and accuracy for Touch ID and 3D Touch — likely facilitated by the next, 4th generation 64-bit A10 chip.

Furthermore, it’s expected that Apple will retain the same 12 MP camera module (at least for the standard iPhone 7), and that the device will feature a new fast charging protocol — enabling users to juice up the device faster than ever before.

The iPhone 7 is also said to be waterproof, too, though that as with everything else, remains to be seen. Remember to keep in mind, too: this image isn’t guaranteed to be the real deal, as Apple could change course at any time if it s desires. Also, we still have 7 months to go until Cupertino ultimately reveals its next flagship live on stage, so, as we suggested, just take all of this with a grain of salt or two until further notice.

Of course, we’ll continue to update you as the images keep pouring in, though we have to be honest — we’re hoping that at least a few of these upgrades see their way into the final product this fall.
