With Apple’s World-Wide Developer Conference looming just over the imminent horizon, it’s reasonable to assume that we might get, at the least, a sneak preview of what the Cupertino-company’s 10th installment of iOS might have in store for us. And while it’s unlikely we’ll see a fully-fledged, operational version of iOS 10 at next month’s conference, we will almost certainly be seeing the iPhone-maker’s newest mobile OS when the ‘iPhone 7’ launches later on this fall.

Even still, setting all the technical details aside, that’s not stopping an ever-growing consortium of dreamers from conceptualizing a vastly overhauled, impending iteration of iOS. And why not, right? To live is to dream, after all, is it not? And while we haven’t seen many huge overhauls of iOS since back when version 7.0 touched down in 2013, it’s very possible the company has another vast revision in store for the big one-zero.

Exactly what might the new mobile OS feature? Well, that much still remains to be seen, of course. However, curiosity still seems to be running just as wild, nevertheless, as several visionaries have already begun infiltrating the web with concepts and renderings, galore — and some of them, like this one here, are actually pretty cool. We’d definitely open up to embracing changes somewhere along the lines of these.

All that said, feel free to check out the video below, which shows off a unique new concept that encompasses a rather dramatic iOS 10 overhaul — one that synthesizes elements including better home screen shortcuts, a new, color-coded multitasking UI, and much, much more.

And it does all this, best of all, without changing the fundamentals of iOS that make it, well, iOS.. And therefore, users wouldn’t have to “start from scratch,” by relearning how to do everything they’ve come to know all over again. But the concept does, however, add some pretty cool new features to the mix that greatly expand upon Apple’s mobile operating system’s functionality.

For example, in addition to some intuitive new lock screen shortcuts — which would allow you to quickly check things like the weather, control alarms, and more, the concept features the ability to swipe down on an app icon to perform actions like install the latest app updates, read text messages, and so on.

Additionally, the concept features certain elements — like a dark mode — which would work great with some OLED or AMOLED screens, which are typically best suited for devices featuring darker backgrounds. It also features a pretty sweet new multitasking user interface — boasting color-coded UI elements, which would allow you to see inside apps that are open in the background, without actually having to open them.

Of course, remember to keep in mind that this is merely just a concept. And while we’d love to see a few, if not all, of these features make their way into the final, commercialized build of iOS 10, it’s going to be a (short) while before we get to see what’s coming from Cupertino this fall.

What did you think about this iOS 10 concept? Let us know in the comments!
